Spatial Design
CO-AUTHOR CLIENT: SMART CITY, CHENNAI
TAS was invited to devise a spatial strategy to reimagine a series of urban voids within the city of Chennai.
Can the design envision an alternative strategy where the urban voids play the dual role of being an identity for the city, a venue for calendar events and also be an anchor for the immediate neighbourhood, hosting the ‘non-events’ of everyday life?

The coloured frames within the structure function as a perspectival device presenting a series of views, drawing the audience on a journey that creates a world of its own amongst the hustle and bustle of the traffic.

The gallery functions as a place where people can view art, walk, sit, read, discuss and perform. The structure exists as a sculpture in itself, providing a visually pleasing experience for the people who drive by.
